MIDISketch for Pro Tools

This is the first time MIDISketch runs inside Pro Tools as a native AAX plugin. On your system it could be flawless or badly broken. We do not know yet, and that is what this page is for: try it, then tell us what happened.

BEFORE YOU INSTALLSame plugin, same license and same trial as every other format. It is not in the installer yet, so it goes in by hand. Work on copies of any session you care about.

Install on Windows

1. Unzip the download and copy every .aaxplugin folder into C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins.
2. Start Pro Tools after that, not before. MIDISketch shows up under Instrument in the plugin list.
3. Load it on an Instrument track. Draw a note with a bend and play it. Does the bend sound?
4. Route the MIDI out. Make a second Instrument track with a synth on it and set its MIDI input to the MIDISketch output, which shows in the input list once MIDISketch is loaded. Does the bend reach the synth, and do two notes bend on their own? This is the part nobody has tested yet.
5. Save, close Pro Tools, reopen. The session should come back with the sketch in it.

Good or bad, short or long. "Works fine on 2026.4" is as useful to us as a crash.

REPORT WHAT YOU FINDYour Pro Tools version and Windows version, what you did, what you expected, what happened. A screenshot or a short recording beats a paragraph. If Pro Tools refused to load it, say exactly what it showed.

What we know so far

• Windows only for now. The macOS build is being signed and goes to testers next.
• Tested on Pro Tools 2026.4. Older versions may work; nobody has tried.
• MIDI out to another track is untested inside Pro Tools. It is the report we want most.
• Everything else is the same 0.9.9.7 that ships as VST3, AU, CLAP and Standalone. The beta page has the tester notes for those.
