MIDISketch for Pro Tools

MIDISketch runs inside Pro Tools as a native AAX plugin, on Windows and macOS. It is signed with PACE, so it loads in a normal Pro Tools install with no wrapper.

BEFORE YOU INSTALLSame plugin, same license and same trial as every other format. The AAX is its own download for now: on Windows it goes in by hand, on a Mac it has its own installer.

Install it

1. Put it in place. On Windows, unzip the download and copy every .aaxplugin folder into C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins. On a Mac, open the .pkg and click through; it installs into /Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins.
2. Start Pro Tools after that, not before. MIDISketch shows up under Instrument in the plugin list.
3. Load it on an Instrument track, then load your synth in its Synth tab, or use the built-in one. Draw a note with a bend and press play.
4. Match the bend range. Turn on MPE in your synth and set its pitch bend range to 48, or set MIDISketch to match the synth in File, MIDI Settings. The Pro Tools guide has the details.

Good to know

• Pro Tools has no MPE of its own. Load an MPE synth inside MIDISketch and every note bends on its own.
• Tested on Pro Tools 2026.4. Older versions will most likely load it too; tell us if yours does not.
• It is the same 0.9.10.1 that ships as VST3, AU, CLAP and Standalone, on the same license.
