A browser-based MIDI library manager. Find, audition and sort your whole MIDI collection fast, filter and key-lock patterns, then stream them straight to your synths through the Bridge. It is local-first, so the database lives on your machine rather than ours.
MIDIScout is an early access prototype. It is fully functional and people use it
every day, but it is rougher around the edges than MIDISketch and it changes more often. If you
already subscribe, nothing about your account has changed: sign in the same way you always have, and the app itself lives at app.midiscout.com.
What it does
- Browse a whole library at once. Point it at your MIDI folders and search across all of it, instead of opening files one at a time to remember what they were.
- Audition without loading. Hear a pattern before you commit it to a track.
- Filter and key-lock. Narrow by key so what you audition already fits the session.
- Stream to your synths. The Bridge routes MIDI out of the browser into any app or piece of hardware, live, with no export step in between. About the Bridge.
- Local-first. Your library and your tags stay on your machine. If you ever cancel, you can still export the database to JSON.
Subscribing
MIDIScout is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly, and you can cancel any time from your account dashboard. Current plans and prices live on the MIDIScout site, which is where billing is handled.
Good to know
It runs in a browser today, which is what lets it update continuously and work without an install. An offline build is in development for people who work without a connection.
